CITIZEN scientists are encouraged to record their sightings of urban foxes in Limerick City.

As part of a cross-border study being carried out by the University of Galway, aiming to gather as much data as possible on urban foxes to inform conservation planning for the red fox, while also finding solutions for potential human-wildlife conflicts.

Members of the public can record their urban fox sightings online at biodiversityireland.ie/surveys/urban-fox-survey.

Project officer Jodie O’Regan said that “every record that we get in a citizen science project of this nature will make a difference in understanding urban fox distribution and behaviour”.
