A LIMERICK hotel has signalled its intention to apply to Limerick City and County Council for planning permission for a large extension to its existing premises.

A notice in local media shows that Kilmurry Lodge Hotel in Castletroy intends to apply to Limerick City and County Council for planning permission to build a four-storey extension to its existing hotel and operations, which would see an extra 57 bedrooms added to its current 109 rooms.

The development would see a four-storey over semi-basement build, with 57 news rooms to include studios and suites, a reception and admin area at ground floor level, with proposed laundry and kitchenette facilities on each level.

The expansion would also see a lower basement plant area, service zone and staff changing facilities, as well as new external covered connections to the existing hotel, along with 31 additional car parking spaces, and the realignment of existing roadways and car parking.

The plans of the hotel redevelopment have also outlined scope for the creation of new hard and soft landscaping on the grounds, including drainage works, and all other associated site works.
