WITH a fan base as diverse as Hollywood royalty Lorraine Bracco, Michael Douglas, and Catherine Zeta Jones, as well as sports icon Tiger Woods and President Michael D. Higgins, the spotlight is back on The Soul of Motown. Led by singer Connor McKeon and his powerhouse 14-piece band, these “New Kings of Cool” are ready to bring down the house at University Concert Hall on Friday, November 29.
The Soul of Motown tour marks a thrilling return home for the group, who have already performed 10 sold-out shows at Dublin’s National Concert Hall. Known for their flawless renditions of Motown’s biggest hits, McKeon and his band are primed to deliver an unforgettable night of music marking the first stop of their Irish tour.
Last Christmas, Connor McKeon, an avid GAA fan, performed for four-time All-Ireland champions Limerick at Adare Manor, where he wowed sports stars and fans alike with his tribute to the Motown legends. Now, McKeon’s sights are set on bringing the sounds of Detroit’s golden age to UCH.
The show promises to take audiences on a soulful journey through some of the most iconic songs of the 1960s and ‘70s, from Marvin Gaye’s smooth grooves to the vibrant beats of Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, the Supremes, and many more. With classics by Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, and the Temptations also on the setlist, The Soul of Motown is sure to be a night of high-energy hits, filled with rhythm, passion, and fun from start to finish.
For fans of the era and newcomers, Connor McKeon and his talented band will bring a night of unforgettable music and memories for soul and Motown fans. Remaining tickets from www.uch.ie
