IN the most dramatic of FAI Junior Cup ties, Aisling Annacotty came from 1-0 behind in stoppage time to incredibly advance 2-1 at the expense of Ballynanty Rovers at TUS.
Balla’ led from the hour mark courtesy of Jamie Greaves and looked ‘certain’ for the shock win only for Conor Coughlan to net twice in the closing moments, first from a penalty effort and then a rather fortuitous score when an attempted clearance rebounded off his body into the net.
On Sunday morning (11am), holders Aisling are at Regional in for a tasty Premier League fixture. Elsewhere, Fairview Rangers are at Nenagh, Carew Park travel to Newport and Hyde Rangers host Janesboro, fresh from eliminating Pike Rovers from the national competition.
Simultaneously, Balla’ are at Pike for a mouth-watering Munster Junior Cup encounter.
This Thursday (7pm), Limerick face Clare in the inter-league Oscar Traynor Cup at Frank Healy Park in Ennis.
