IT ISN’T often an opportunity arises to spend an afternoon with an author after their death, but that is what’s on offer this Sunday (November 10).
No 1 Pery Square will play host to An Afternoon with Kate O’Brien, a literary event celebrating the late author’s life, work, and Limerick heritage on the 50th anniversary of her passing.
The event will feature a talk on the author’s life and achievements, a musical tribute from soprano Sarah-Ellen Murphy and pianist Irina Dernova, and a presentation from Limerick historian Sharon Slater titled ‘From Evicted Tenants to Limerick Bourgeoisie – The Changing Fortunes of the O’Brien Family’.
Local actor Myles Breen will also perform excepts from O’Brien’s catalogue.
