Limerick towns set to benefit from additional funding for Christmas activities

Towns in County Limerick are to get additional funding for Christmas initiatives.

A NUMBER of County Limerick towns are set to benefit this holiday season from €50,000 in government funding to help get the Christmas party going.

The funding was announced by Minister of State for Planning and Local Government, Alan Dillon, as part of a multi-county funding round.

Minister Dillon said that the funding in Limerick, handed down following an application from Limerick City and County Council to support Christmas events and initiatives, will be allocated towards festive lighting and decorations in Newcastle West, Rathkeale, Kilmallock, and Abbeyfeale.

The Minister said that he was “delighted to confirm that each of the local authorities along the western seaboard will receive funding for festive events that will encourage people to shop local this Christmas”.
