Two Limerick students honoured with Naughton Foundation awards

TWO hard-working Limerick students were awarded this year’s Naughton Foundation Scholarship.

The annual scholarships, founded by Dr Martin Naughton and his wife Carmel, aim to assist students pursuing education the areas of engineering, science, and technology at third level.

Shane Rafferty, from Ardscoil Rís in Limerick, and Jonathan Byrne, of Crescent College Comprehensive, were among 37 awarded with the 2024 Naughton scholarship, receiving a bursary worth €24,000 towards their education.

€1,000 was also awarded to both Limerick schools to go towards their science facilities for their support of the winning students.
