AS THE October Bank Holiday Weekend approaches, Shannon Airport is expecting a bumper weekend of passengers passing through the airport.
Shannon officials are expecting over 42,000 passengers to take to the skies over the bank holiday period.
The end of October marks the start of Shannon Airport’s winter flight schedule, with passengers flying from Shannon able to avail of increased-capacity on five of the 17 Ryanair services out of the airport.
CEO of the Shannon Airport Group Mary Considine said that they are looking forward to a busy weekend.
“Our passenger numbers at Shannon Airport are up seven per cent year-to-date, and we are really looking forward to welcoming over 42,000 passengers during the October Halloween break,” Ms Considine said.
“Our team have been working tirelessly to improve the airport experience and that is why, in addition to our existing supports, we have just joined the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower programme to enhance the airport experience for all customers,” the Shannon Group boss added.
Ryanair flights to destinations like Budapest, Edinburgh, Krakow, Liverpool, London, and Manchester, as well as sun holiday favourites like Lanzarote, Tenerife, and Malaga will feature as part of Shannon’s winter schedule, while Are Lingus will operate flights to Paris, London Heathrow, New York JFK, and Boston for the winter.
“Whether passengers are heading off on a Halloween holiday or arriving for business or pleasure, we’re dedicated to making their journey enjoyable from the moment they step into the airport. The holiday starts here,” Ms Considine concluded.
