NEW stars Kingfishr are set to light up Limerick’s Docklands Festival on Friday, August 22, 2025, bringing a huge homecoming celebration for the “wannabe songbirds” whose star is ever rising. The Limerick-based trio has quickly made a name for themselves, known for their unique blend of atmospheric sounds and memorable hooks that have earned them a fast-growing fanbase.
Since forming just two years ago, Kingfishr has amassed over 12 million streams on Spotify and garnered attention through Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & IE: Class of 2023 and RADAR: First Listen UK & IE Artists selections. Their meteoric rise was highlighted by sold-out tours across the UK and Ireland in 2023 and appearances at renowned festivals, including BST Hyde Park, Latitude, All Points East, and Electric Picnic. Sharing stages with major artists like Dermot Kennedy and George Ezra has further solidified their reputation as one of Ireland’s most promising acts.
Mick Dolan added his enthusiasm, saying, “We’re delighted to welcome Kingfishr back to the Docklands after they were the first band to perform at the festival post-COVID, supporting Hermitage Green. Since then, their rise has been incredible, and this hometown show is the perfect way to celebrate that success.” Dolan added, “With Picture This already selling out their first night and adding a second, expect more announcements.”
Tickets for Kingfishr’s Docklands show go on sale this Friday, November 1, at 10 a.m. through dolans.ie and ticketmaster.ie.
