LEDP celebrates 25 years supporting Limerick communities

LIMERICK Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP) has marked a significant milestone with its Board and founding members, celebrating 25 years of operation supporting Limerick’s most disadvantaged communities.

A not-for-profit independently funded charity, LEDP lets its commercial property in Roxboro and uses the revenue to invest in impactful community projects on a ‘need’ driven basis.

LEDP is renowned for successfully contributing to the social fabric of Limerick City through facilitating job creation, education and upskilling, benevolent projects, and continues to be a key stimulator for regeneration across the City.

There are now 35 enterprises with over 700 jobs and 2,000 training places at the former Krups site at Roxboro.

LEDP also owns the Spark Hub Co-working Space, Family Tree Crèche, and the Markets Field Stadium, all not-for-profit activities with the sole purpose of being a catalyst for positive change.

Chief Executive Niall O’Callaghan said that “the success of the LEDP project is a testament to our founders, Board members and Trustees”.

“The addition of both the University of Limerick and Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board as trustees in recent years is a reflection in the esteem in which LEDP is held, 25 years of delivering tangible change in Limerick. Our ambitious plans are now set to grow and accelerate our impact and enable our vision of realising the full potential of the people of Limerick.”

LEDP is an organisation leading the agenda for social advancement in Limerick and has worked in partnership with dozens of community groups and non-for-profits since its formation in 1999, supporting thousands of children and adults to fulfill their potential.
