INDEPENDENT councillor Jerome Scanlan has made it crystal clear that he wants sight lines to be significantly improved at Portland Estate in Newcastle West.
Cllr Scanlan was informed at the sitting of a recent area meeting in Newcastle West that an application will be made to the Department of Transport for a low cost safety scheme under the 2025 programme.
“Sightline improvements will be carried out with the approval of the relevant landowners,” Senior Engineer John Sheehan told Cllr Scanlan.
