THE Pop Dance Party of the year is back. The iconic Big Day Out festival is making a triumphant return with an all-star lineup of nostalgia-fueled performances. Set to take place at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday, August 23 2025, this chock full event promises to be the ultimate throwback party of the summer.
Leading the charge is Peter Andre, the million-selling Australian pop sensation and heartthrob, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his Irish chart-toppers “Mysterious Girl” and “Flava.” Fans can expect a hit-filled set that will transport them back to the peak of 90s pop.
Joining him for an exclusive Irish performance is the legendary Whigfield, best known for her 1994 smash hit “Saturday Night.” Expect to hear her other classics like “Sexy Eyes” and “Think of You,” in what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of 90s pop anthems.
On the dance front, the Big Day Out lineup is equally stacked. German dance icons Sash!, famous for their seven Top 10 Irish singles including “Encore Un Fois” and “Ecuador,” will have the crowd moving. They’ll be joined by UK dance act Ultrabeat, whose 2003 hit “Pretty Green Eyes” remains an Irish favourite.
And it doesn’t stop there. The powerful vocals of Heather Small, lead singer of M People, will fill the stadium as she belts out timeless hits like “Moving On Up,” “One Night in Heaven,” and “Don’t Look Any Further.” Heather’s voice defined an era, and her live performance will be a highlight of the festival.
Adding even more excitement to the day is Mark McCabe, the legendary DJ and producer behind the Irish dance anthem “Maniac 2000.” As the MC for the event, fans can look forward to the possibility of him taking the stage for a special performance of his classic hit.
With more acts to be announced, the return of the famous Silent Disco, expanded bar options, additional facilities, and a revamped festival layout, The Big Day Out is set to deliver a truly unforgettable experience.
Tickets for The Big Day Out go on sale this Friday, October 25th at 9am, priced from €64.90 (including booking fee), and will be available via Ticketmaster.ie.
