Pictured at the outset of the Championship were 12 club representatives. Just two remain in the hunt for the ultimate prize, namely Adare and Fr. Casey's.

AN-ALL West County Senior Football Championship Final is on the cards after Adare and Fr. Casey’s came through from the weekend semi-finals.

Adare, three-time winners, caused a huge upset with a 2-9 to 0-11 defeat of holders Newcastle West at Seán Finn Park, Rathkeale.

Rapid-fire goals from Hugh Bourke and Shane O’Connor in the lead-up to the interval gave Adare a commanding 2-6 to 0-3 half-time lead.

Harry Gleeson’s side thereafter bravely defended that advantage and there was no way back for NCW.
