LIMERICK-based school lunch provider Carambola marked its 21st anniversary of delivering school meals to students on Shannonside and across the country.

Carambola started as a pilot project in 2003, but has since grown to deliver over 150,000 school lunches each week.

Founded by Colm and Aideen O’Brien, Carambola was a key partner in the delivery of the government’s Hot School Meals programme.

Colm O’Brien, co-founder of Carambola, said that the company’s aim is to provide nutritious meals for children to reach their full potential.

“Our mission has always been to ensure that children have access to nutritious meals that support their growth, learning, and overall wellbeing. We’re thrilled to have reached this significant milestone, and we look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of students across Ireland,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Our success is built on our strong values of quality, service, and innovation,” Ms O’Brien said.

“The team treats every meal with the care and attention they’d want for their own children.”

Over the past 20 years, Carambola has delivered over 65 million meals to children across Ireland.

With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and keeping children’s wellbeing at the forefront, Carambola is hoping to continue making a positive difference in the years to come.
