Emerging Limerick Filmmakers host 2 VFX Masterclasses

Emerging Limerick Filmmakers was delighted to host a workshop by Mario Beck exploring the complex world of visualisation for film. The event was supported by Screen Ireland through the VFX Academy and was hosted in the Engine Building operating by Innovate Limerick.

I’m delighted to work with the VEX Academy to bring two masterclasses to different age
groups,” writes Pete Moles, Artistic Director of Emerging Limerick Filmmakers. “ELF has a strong history supporting young filmmakers  in the region and we are excited to develop more events like this that offer opportunities to young filmmakers and Limerick’s ever growing professional community. There’s a lot of good things happening in film in the
region.  it’s a great place to be right now.”

Marks Beck has worked on big budget films including The First Omen,Alien Romulus and the TV series Moonhaven. “Visualisation is a growing part of the film-making process and I was grateful to share my experience in my hometown of Limerick. It was great to meet emerging filmmakers and to connect with people working in the industry in the Mid West region”.

The event was attended by over 50 people and saw an in depth exploring of pre-visualisation, post-visialisation and the role of AI, among other things. Barbara Henkes, head of the VFX Academy, was  in attendance.” Attending the one-day ELF masterclass with visualisation artist Mario Mario Beck was an invaluable experience for both young filmmakers and professionals. Mario provided an in-depth overview of the VFX workflow, offering  unique, enjoyable insights and practical takeaways”.
