Paul Brady Lime Tree Theatre. Paul Brady’s live performances, whether solo or with full band, include songs from his extensive catalog of 40 years. Often classified as a musicians’ musician, His songs have been covered by a huge array of major artists. With more than sixteen albums to date, the most recent release ‘The Vicar St Sessions Vol.1’ was recorded live in premiere Dublin venue Vicar St in 2001 and it features collaborations with many of Paul’s contemporaries and special guests.
Brighton Belltable. Torch Players present Waterford playwright Jim Nolan’s poignant, but wonderfully uplifting play. Brighton takes the ordinary story of three people and becomes a major belief in miracles, human support and comfort. Set in present day London, we meet the never say die widow, Lily Thompson, celebrated actor Jack Dunhill, paralysed from the waist down, lamenting a modest career and a lifetime of regrets and the almost too cheery care assistant Dave. Brighton is a thoughtful but funny salute to survival as a sometimes small but significant statement, where regrets are put aside and even hopeless cases have their time to shine.

IFI Screening: The Critic – Belltable. Anand Tucker’s reimagining of Anthony Quinn’s novel Curtain Call which focuses on the infamous critic Jimmy Erskine (Ian McKellen) with whom he clashes after recently inheriting the paper; and a young actress, Nina Land (Gemma Arterton) who is devastated by Jimmy’s recent scathing review of her.
Screening: The Thing – University Concert Hall. This classic horror favourite is directed by John Carpenter, and stars Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, and Keith David. A haunting score by Ennio Morricone builds the tension throughout.

Floating on a Dead Sea – Lime Tree Theatre. An immersive and visceral reflection on life in the Palestinian West Bank prior to the 2023/24 war, interweaving dance, film, live music and text. In 2017, Catherine Young took her dance company to Palestine. Floating on a Dead Sea is inspired by this experience; the feeling of being lifted and held by the generosity and kindness of a people, in a place where nothing is normal.
Creepy Crypts: “Once Upon a Time” – A Samhain Tradition Event – St. John’s Church, Knockainey. Historian Melissa Shiels will lead an interactive demonstration on Samhain traditions from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Kaostra – Belltable. Music Generation Limerick City presents a musical exploration of the teenage realities we don’t like to talk about – bullying, anxiety, anger, intrusive thoughts, dark moods, the need to reach out. These are explored through rap, singing, multimedia, poetry and storytelling.
