SEÁN Russell has been announced as successor to Dom Foley as manager of Treaty United Women’s Senior Team.

Foley only stood down from the role at the weekend.

Having spent this season with the club’s under-17 side, Russell has signed a multi-year deal. He is well qualified for the position.

As a player, he has significant experience following many years in the League of Ireland along with a spell in the United States.

A delighted Russell said: “I’m absolutely delighted to take on the role, it’s been a big ambition of mine, I’ve been working towards this over the past few years, it’s a proud moment”.

“What is important is setting high standards, every single day, every single session, every single game, this will result in positive actions, and we will get to where we want to be”.

Club CEO Ciara McCormack stated: “Seán has worked with our academy teams over the last few months. His passion for coaching and ability to develop players is at some of the highest levels I have ever seen.

“As we look to integrate local players into our senior team and build our club into one that is challenging for titles, Sean stood out as someone we feel confident can help us do that in the years to come,” Ms McCormack added.
