GARDAÍ in Limerick seized over €3,000 worth of cannabis plants from a house during an investigation into alleged money laundering.

Officers from Roxboro Road seized €3,200 worth of cannabis plants during the search, which were suspected to be used for the sale or supply to others.

Gardaí said in a post on the Garda Síochána Limerick Facebook page that the occupants of the house told officers they didn’t know that growing cannabis was illegal.

Further investigations and testing on the plants are needed, Gardaí added, adding that the suspects would be arrested and questioned in relation to the find.
