SAFETY measures for pupils and parents going to and from class have been called for by one Fine Gael councillor at three schools in West Limerick.
Cllr Liam Galvin called on Limerick City and County Council to carry out proper safety measures at Ashford National School, particularly from the Broadford side, Tournafulla National School, and Templeglantine National School to include proper signage, speed ramps, and road markings.
In response to Cllr Galvin’s safety requests at a recent Newcastle West area meeting, the Council said it will investigate the need for additional proper signage measures.
With regard traffic calming measures, Cllr Galvin was informed that additional funding will be required and the Traffic Calming Policy 2024 will have to be adhered to.
