A SPECIAL Mass to remember those who have passed away while under the care of staff at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) will take place this Sunday (October 13).

The annual multi-denominational service will take place from 3pm at St Nessan’s Church, on Church Road in Raheen, and invites the loved ones of patients who have recently passed away at UHL to attend and take part.

A spokesman for the hospital said that “anyone with a beloved family member or friend who passed away at the hospital between August 2023 and August 2024 is invited to join with hospital staff in this service”, adding that “individuals of all faiths and none are welcome to attend”.

Those unable to attend in person can also join in on a live-stream of the Mass online on mcrparish.com.

UHL’s end-of-life care coordinator Rebecca Lloyd said that the annual service is “profoundly significant for hospital staff and we encourage anyone who has had a loved one die in UHL since August 2023 to unite with us as a community in shared grief”.
