GARDAÍ in Limerick have put a further dent in drugs operations in the city after seizing €70,000 in suspected cocaine following a swoop on a home and an “open ground area”.
Gardaí confirmed this Saturday afternoon that €70,000 in suspected cocaine was seized by investigating officers on Thursday (October 10) as part of an intelligence-led operation.
A Garda spokeswoman said that “Gardaí conducted the search of a residence and an open ground area in south Limerick City on Thursday”.
“During the course of the search operation, approximately 1kg of suspected cocaine was seized by Gardaí. The estimated value of drugs seized is €70,000,” the Garda spokeswoman explained.
The drugs are to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
No arrests have been made in relation to the drug seizure at this time, but the Garda spokeswoman said “investigations are ongoing”.
