GARDAÍ in Limerick are reminding homeowners to ensure that doors and windows are locked and car keys are stored out of sight after a recent spate of thefts across the county.
This comes after a number of criminals opened the door to a house, which had been left unlocked, disturbing the surprised owner who was asleep on the couch.
In Meelick, Ardnacrusha, and Rhebogue, a number of attempted break-ins were reported, with the criminals after keys which had been left in clear view.
Gardaí in Henry Street are reminding people to store their keys in a drawer and out of sight of criminals.
