UB40 to play Limerick in August 2025

TUS Gaelic Grounds will host an Irish exclusive outdoor show from the legendary UB40 feat Ali Campbell on Sunday August 24, 2025.

Joining them on the bill is special guest Damien Dempsey who will be performing tracks from his brand-new album Hold Your Joy plus all of his fan favourites.

Fueled by the voice that powered UB40 to 70 million record sales and over fifty UK chart hits, Ali Campbell,  and the latest incarnation of his extraordinary band,  will take his legendary reggae sound on tour next year.

Last year marked 40 years since the release of UB40’s seminal album ‘Labour of Love’ in 1983 which produced the groundbreaking hits that will be performed on this tour such as ‘Cherry Oh Baby’, ‘Many Rivers to Cross’, ‘Please Don’t Make Me Cry’, and of course the ubiquitous ‘Red Red Wine’ which topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and Ireland. Further hits from across the band’s career such as ‘Kingston Town’, a cover of ‘I Got You Babe’ with Chrissie Hynde, and ‘(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You’ helped the band and Ali Campbell become the authentic voice of UK Reggae, with a total of 70 million records sold, as they took their smooth yet rootsy musical blend to all corners of the globe.

Singer and guitarist Ali Campbell’s touring ensemble remains a most authentic realisation of UB40’s original aim of advancing reggae in all its guises.
