MUNSTER returned to winning ways last night in the URC with a clear-cut 23-0 victory over Ospreys at Virgin Media Park, Cork.

The home outfit were 18-0 in front thanks to tries from Shay McCarthy (after just a few seconds), Tom Farrell, and Calvin Nash with Jack Crowley kicking a penalty.

In the second half, Munster got their bonus-point try courtesy of Jack O’Donoghue.
Craig Casey was selected as player-of-the-match.

Victory, however, came at a price though as Oli Jager, Peter O’Mahony, and Mike Haley all picked-up knocks, and must now be assessed ahead of a Croke Park showdown with unbeaten Leinster on Saturday next.

Munster: Mike Haley (Butler 68′); Calvin Nash (Daly 72′), Tom Farrell, Bryan Fitzgerald, Shay McCarthy; Jack Crowley, Craig Casey (Murray 55′); Jeremy Loughman (Ryan 64′), Niall Scannell (Barron 55′), Oli Jager (Archer 13′); Jean Kleyn (Wycherley 64′), Tadhg Beirne, captain; Peter O’Mahony (Coombes 22′), John Hodnett, Jack O’Donoghue.
