A CONSTRUCTION company has confirmed that it has been involved in over €700million worth of projects in the Mid West over the last six months.

Mitchell McDermott made the announcement at the official opening of its new Limerick City office based on Bedford Row.

The company is involved in the Cleeves Riverside Quarter Project in Limerick City as well as residential developments on the Dock Road and Carey’s Road.

The construction company’s new Limerick office will be headed up by Abbeyfeale man Eoin McEnery, who told the official opening that the company will be looking to expand in region even further.

“We always had a strong portfolio of clients across the Mid West and South but having the office here will enable us to better serve new and existing projects while availing of opportunities to grow the business across various sectors, including residential, pharma, life sciences, and commercial,” Mr McEnery said.

“Some of our staff were looking to relocate to Limerick and the city and county clearly have a lot of attractions. We started with four staff members, but we recently took on four more employees. We will be looking to hire more in the coming months as we expand our presence.”

Established in 2015 by two Mayo men, Mitchell McDermott currently employs more than 70 staff.

Co-founder of the firm, Paul Mitchell, said that Limerick and the Mid West have a bright future and they wanted to help the city reach its potential.

“We are currently advising on almost 2,400 residential units across the region – predominantly apartments across public and private sector clients, over 500 hotel rooms, and over 270 purpose-built student beds as well as 40,000m squared  of commercial, mixed use and event space,” Mr Mitchell said.

“We are delighted with the way Eoin and the Limerick team have hit the ground running, and we believe they can deliver real value to clients by drawing on our extensive multi-sector experience and of course their local knowledge of the market.

“We are already seeing growing demand for our services here, especially with regard to cost management, project management, bank monitoring, financial modelling and due diligence. That bodes very well for the future.”
