LIMERICK Greenway has gotten a bit more accessible for all to celebrate Irish Sign Language (ISL) Awareness Week.

Two new installations were unveiled on the Greenway by councillor Jerome Scanlon, adding to the visitor experience on the 40 kilometer route.

The installations at Barnagh Viewing Point and Tullig Wood come in the form of a dial-up audio box that, when turned, play traditional music and provide facts about local heritage and biodiversity, with ISL interpretation so even more people can enjoy it.

The new piece, entitled ‘Blackbox Av’, will allow visitors to engage in Limerick’s culture and heritage.

The ISL element can be accessed by scanning a QR code and will direct users to an ISL video of the audio installations.
