Bohermore National School marks 165 Years as Church, Handball Alley join in milestone celebrations

Bohermore National School.

Bohermore National School, which has been at the heart of educating generations, is proudly marking its 165th year—a true testament to its enduring legacy.

Meanwhile, Bohermore Church, a beacon of faith and community spirit, celebrates its 150th anniversary. And not to be left out, our cherished local handball alley, where friendships have been forged and competitive spirits have thrived, turns 65 this year.

To commemorate these momentous occasions, we invite everyone to join us on October 18th at Ballyneety Golf Club for a night of joy, laughter and reflection on our shared heritage. The evening will kick off with a drinks reception, setting the stage for a night of lively conversation and reconnecting with friends and neighbours. Adding to the celebration, local band ‘Drive’ will take the stage to keep the energy high with music that will surely get everyone on their feet.

As a special highlight of the evening, we are proud to announce the launch of a newly written book that chronicles the rich history of Bohermore, from its humble beginnings to the thriving community it is today. This book, full of stories, photographs, and memories, will be available for purchase on the night—a perfect keepsake for anyone with a connection to our beloved village.

Whether you have deep roots in Bohermore or are a more recent member of the community, this Gala Night promises to be an unforgettable occasion. Let’s come together to celebrate our past, enjoy the present, and look forward to the future!
