Dermot Whelan tours his Mind Full podcast

LIMERICK multi award-winning broadcaster and comedian Dermot Whelan has launched a new season of The Mind Full Podcast. Season one established The Mind Full Podcast as Ireland’s number one wellness podcast.

Dermot explores the topics that can help us to calm a frantic mind, understand our behaviour and  explore our own potential.

In this season of The Mind Full Podcast, Blindboy Boatclub will talk about breaking free of ‘the shame of being autistic,’ his social anxiety and how he spent two years literally being afraid of his own shadow. Dermot will also travel to Boston to speak with WHOOP Founder & CEO Will Ahmed about how he went toe-to-toe with Amazon to become one America’s biggest and most successful tech entrepreneurs at the helm of his $3.6 billion dollar company.

The Script’s Glen Power discusses the process of discharging grief after last year’s passing of his dear friend and bandmate Mark Sheehan and making room for the joy to come in. The band will perform in Thomond Park in July 2025 and Dermot describes his interview with one of Ireland’s most successful bands as, “no-holds-barred and powerful.”

Mary Bonnet, star of Netflix’s global hit Selling Sunset is Dermot’s guest on the first episode of the new season of The Mind Full Podcast available now.

The first episode available now is an interview with Selling Sunset’s Mary Bonnet.

The star of Netflix’s global hit show tells Dermot about overcoming hurdles as a teen mum, bringing up a young child while juggling college and work, which saw her flip her car due to exhaustion and opens up about her recent miscarriage and how ‘this one hit harder.’

Mary Bonnet divulges what life is really like in the USA’s most famous real estate company. Gone are the days when she could take prospective buyers to view houses alone. With the rising popularity of the show they now need to really vet prospective buyers and weed out the ‘tyre kickers’ who just want to hang out with Mary or her glam colleagues.

“We have to do a lot of vetting before we will even meet with someone. We have to look them up and make sure that not only can they afford to buy it but they are not psycho! There’s a lot of people that reach out and we have to take our safety very seriously.

“We are going alone with somebody to a house that’s empty. Before it wasn’t a big deal but now we’re targets so we have to be very very careful that people are who they say they are, that we are not alone. For an Open House we are saying where we are going to be from this time to this time alone’

She also reveals how she keeps her feet on the ground amidst the high heels, hissy fits and high price mansions!

Dermot will be embarking on his Busy & Wrecked Tour throughout Ireland in 2025 where he will be helping people to create more space and energy for the people and things that really matter to us. It’s a show literally like no other. With Dermot’s unique mix of comedy and mindfulness, this brand-new show is a lifeline for anyone who feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

Sharing his own experience with burnout and his expertise as a meditation teacher, all in his much-loved hilarious style, Dermot will show you a new, calmer more effective approach to life where you are less likely to spill your tea on your clean blouse, bite the head off the shop assistant or cry into your Corn Flakes

The Busy & Wrecked Tour comes to University Concert Hall on Friday February 21.
