Lucy Roche into Laurels final

IN HER first season as a trainer, teenager Lucy Roche of Cappagh has qualified Hazlehill Bucko for the final of the Bar One Racing Greyhound Laurels Final at Curraheen Park, Cork.

Bucko finished second in his semi-final in the weekend and has been drawn in trap six for the decider on Saturday night next.

He is owned by Michael O’Connell of Askeaton.

The Classic final, which boasts a winner’s prize of €30,000 will be shown live on Virgin Media.

Meanwhile, Liam Carroll of Cratloe enjoyed victory in the valuable Adrian Hanley Vet A1 525 yards stake final at Limerick.

The son of Clonbrien Hero and Clona Lass won with a little in hand in a time of 28.58 seconds.
