Premier Intermediate relegation contest to take place while senior camogie reaches semi-final stages

THERE’S a Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship floodlit relegation contest between Glenroe and Na Piarsaigh in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Friday (8pm).

Ahead of the concluding round of group fixtures the weekend after next, Derry McMahon’s unbeaten Newcastle West remain favourites.

In Camogie action, the semi-finals of the Senior Camogie Championship and Plate are listed for Saturday: holders Newcastle West host Na Piarsaigh (referee Mike Woulfe) and Bruff entertain Ahane (referee John O’Donnell).

In the Plate, Killeedy are home to Crecora and Adare are away to Monaleen.

All matches throw-in at 5.45pm.

The finals are fixed for October 12/13.

In Ladies Football, holders Monagea were surprisingly beaten, 1-12 to 2-7, by St. Ailbe’s in the semi-final of the Senior Championship.

Mike Fox managed Ballylanders won the other semi, 2-7 to 1-7, against Old Mill.

The final is scheduled for Sunday week.
