AIL action continues at weekend

GARRYOWEN away to Clontarf is the pick of the fixtures in Division 1 of the AIL on Saturday.

Both sides claimed maximum points on the opening day of the campaign as the Sky Blues narrowly defeated Lansdowne 29-27 at Dooradoyle.

Clontarf recorded a 31-27 away win over newly-promoted St Mary’s College.

Elsewhere, Young Munster welcome 2023 champions Terenure College to Tom Clifford Park, with both sides going in to the tie on the back of victories.

The Limerick side recorded a narrow 24-22 away win over UCD. Terenure College avenged last season’s final defeat by Cork Constitution, running out 25-15 winners at Lakelands Park.

In 1B, Shannon face a tricky task as they entertain Old Wesley at Thomond Park.Wesley recorded a 29-13 victory over Blackrock College at Energia Park.

In 2B, Old Crescent travel to County Meath, to take on Navan, with both sides seeking their first win of the campaign.

Elsewhere, UL Bohemian travel to North County Dublin, to take on Skerries at Holmpatrick.

In 2C, Bruff are away to Monkstown.

The Women’s All-Ireland League also gets underway this weekend as UL Bohemian travel to the Capital to take on Blackrock College at Stradbrook.
