MUSIC for Mental Health returns to Limerick on Thursday, October 10, with a stellar line-up to support three local charities. The annual fundraising and mental health awareness gig will take place at Dolans Warehouse, featuring special guests Denise Chaila, Emma Langford, Pat Shortt, and more.
This year’s event will raise funds for Limerick Suicide Watch, the Children’s Grief Centre, and the Limerick Haven Hub. A special live video recording will also take place on the night, with Emma Langford leading a group of artists in a new rendition of The Cranberries’ classic Animal Instinct. The track and video will be released in early 2025 to support Haven Hub, a local charity focused on peer support and suicide prevention.
Organised by Humanli and supported by Limerick City and County Council, the event not only raises vital funds but also promotes mental health awareness and gives local artists a platform. “We created the event in 2018 to support young artists, promote positive mental health, and create awareness,” said Karl Daly, founder of Humanli and event organiser. “Limerick has huge musical talent, and we encourage support from the public and business community.”
This will be the sixth edition of Music for Mental Health, with previous events raising nearly €100,000 for Limerick charities. Recalling the first event, Daly said: “Our first gig featured Noel Hogan, and in a sad twist, Dolores O’Riordan passed away that same weekend. We’ve kept the event going ever since.”
The night will also feature performances by Raging Sons, Keith Walsh, Joyce Zacks & Band, and Stray Saints. The event starts at 8 pm, and tickets, priced at €15, are available via Dolans.ie.
