Powerful response to ‘boys will be boys’ attitude toward male violence from Emma Langford

New video for Emma Langford's song.

NEW music from Limerick songwriter, Emma Langford and it is a rocker available to watch on YouTube and stream on digital platforms this Friday September 27.

‘Boys Will Be Boys (F*ck That)’ was written as a response to the “boys will be boys” attitude toward male violence. Emma says that the song was written in a flash of anger after reading a news article about Limerick woman Natasha O’Brien, (while walking home from work in Limerick in 2022 Natasha was grabbed by the hair and repeatedly punched in the face) and the court case that followed which made headlines and led to demonstrations nationwide.

The music video features Emma alongside over 45 other people including fans, friends, and local business owners lip syncing to the track and adding their voices to the collective shout of “f*ck that” to the attitude of “boys will be boys” when it comes to male violence.

The video was edited by Phil Shanahan. The track was recorded at Wanderland Recording Studios featuring Ben Wanders on drums, bass, and electric guitar.
