A SHOCK win by Ahane over deadly east rivals Doon was the only result not anticipated in the concluding round of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship.

For Ahane, Tom Morrissey was outstanding with a huge contribution of 0-14 in the 2-24 to 1-15 victory.  Gary Brennan and Cathal O’Mara claimed goals for the winners.

Elsewhere in Group One, holders Na Piarsaigh breezed past relegated Mungret St. Paul’s and Kilmallock had the measure of Patrickswell, for whom Aaron Gillane and Cian Lynch and Aaron Gillane were unused substitutes.

From Group Two, Ballybrown and Monaleen have progressed.

South Liberties will drop to Premier Intermediate following a heavy defeat to Adare.
