Limerick gains 122 new citizens as new Irish citizens conferred

122 NEW Limerick citizens were given their full Irish citizenship at ceremonies held at the Convention Centre Dublin this past Monday (September 16).

The 122 were flying the green, white, and gold proudly at one of 14 citizenships ceremonies so far this year, in which 11,417 new Irish citizens were conferred.

According to statistics from the Department of Justice, the top 10 nationalities receiving full Irish citizenship status across three ceremonies this Monday were India (502 conferrals), UK (338), Brazil (293), Poland (210), and Romania (210).

Justice Minister Helen McEntee congratulated those being conferred at Monday’s ceremonies, who she said would “undertake a life-changing journey and become an Irish citizen”, thanking them for their “contribution and commitment to Irish society”.
