Old Limerick ghost stories to come alive for Culture Night

Nicholas Street in the heart of Limerick's Mediaeval Quarter.

OLD LIMERICK stories will be spun this September 20 for Culture Night as the old ghosts of Nicholas Street come to life and walk around once more.

A guided storytelling trail will feature tales of the city’s colourful past from King John’s Castle to the Fireplace site, including the chilling tale of ‘Drunken Thady and the Bishop’s Lady’ – a story of the vengeful wife of the Bishop of Limerick from long ago.

The event is free and family-friendly.

Those interested can meet at Katie Daly’s Bar at 4pm, 5pm, or 6pm to begin the guided story trail.

The project is part of a collaboration between the Council and local partners to boost tourism and bring more foot traffic onto King’s Island.
