A REPEAT of last year’s hugely entertaining Limerick Senior Football is not on the cards after holders Newcastle West and Adare were kept apart in the knock-out phase following the weekend completion of group fixtures in Championship 2024.

The rivals could, however, meet at the semi-final stage.

Unbeaten NCW are straight through to the semi-final, while Adare have advanced just to the quarters.

Also into the semis are surprise packets Mungret St. Paul’s, while others to advance following the weekend were Galtee Gaels, Fr. Casey’s and Na Piarsaigh.

The quarter-final pairings are Adare v Galtee Gaels and Fr. Casey’s v Na Piarsaigh, with both those fixtures pencilled-in for the weekend after next.

Semi-finals: Mungret St. Paul’s v Fr. Casey’s or Na Piarsaigh and Newcastle West v Adare or Galtee Gaels.

The relegation final will involve Ballylanders and Ballysteen.

In last year’s main final, goals from Eoin Hurley (2) and Bryan Nix earned NCW a thrilling 3-5 to 0-13 of Adare at the Gaelic Grounds.
