OLD CRESCENT – who have never won the title – are the first side through to the semi-finals of the Munster Senior Cup.

It came courtesy of a 24-14 away win at Midleton.

Tries by Sam Hanrahan and John Hurley, both converted by the latter, had the Limerick side 14-7 ahead at the interval.

Midleton levelled matters in the new half but Crescent finished the stronger and late tries from Dara O’Brien and Brian Molloy sealed the victory.

Elsewhere, holders Garryowen kept their outside hopes alive of progressing to the last four with a 27-10 away win over UCC.
