WITH four wins from as many outings, Newcastle West are the stand-out team in the Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship.

At the weekend, The Magpies overcame Garryspillane, 0-19 to 1-12.

Newcastle West’s leading light Ethan Hurley was an enforced withdrawal in the opening-half but initial fears on the injury haven’t materialised and he will be back in action against Na Piarsaigh in Croagh on Sunday (2pm).

Elsewhere, in ladies gaelic football action, quarter-finals of the Limerick Ladies Senior Football Championship are scheduled for Sunday, showcasing: St. Ailbe’s v Dromcollogher/Broadford, Oola v Old Mill, Ballylanders v Feohanagh/Castlemahon, and holders Monagea v Galtee Gaels.
