A MAN has been arrested and drugs and a firearm seized following a search operation in County Limerick this Tuesday morning (September 3).
Gardaí confirmed that a man in his 30s was arrested and a quantity of drugs seized during the search.
€6,500 of suspected cocaine, as well as €2,600 of suspected cannabis, €1,125 in cash, and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the course of the search.
Gardaí also found a submachine gun and a quantity of ammunition during the search.
The Garda operation involved the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit, Mayorstone uniform personnel, Mayorstone Crime Unit, and assistance from the Armed Support Unit and the regional Dog Unit.
The seized items are undergoing forensic analysis and investigations are ongoing, Gardaí said.
