HIKERS and walking enthusiasts may have to hit the road for the coming weeks as Limerick City and County Council announce the temporary closure of the Limerick side of the Clare Glens Woodland and Loop Walks.

The closure, currently in place, will run until October 25 and was put in place, according to a statement from the Council, to allow the replacement of two pedestrian bridges connecting Limerick to Tipperary.

The route on the other side of the River Annagh in Tipperary will remain open.

A statement from the Council said that “any inconvenience caused is regretted” during the period of the works.
