AN OPEN invitation has been extended to engage in the unique sport of ultimate frisbee.
Up-and-running since 2012, Limerick’s PELT Ultimate Frisbee Club is based at the University of Limerick, training regularly at Maguire’s Field.
The seven-a-side sport is played on an American football-sized pitch and has open, women’s, and mixed divisions. PELT has competed all over the world including in Europe, America, and Australia, with many of its athletes having competed for Ireland.
The World Masters and European Ultimate Frisbee Championships have been held in recent times at UL.
This year PELT has put a particular focus on the mixed division and it certainly seems to have paid off.
PELT Mixed Limerick have qualified for the European Championships and will shortly head to Osteend, Belgium.
Anyone interested in joining or taking part can message the club on Instagram @peltultimate or simply by showing up at training on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm.
