PATRICKSWELL were thrown a lifeline in the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship with a clear-cut victory over Mungret St Paul’s.
Beaten in their opening two fixtures, Ciaran Carey’s side easily came through this test, 2-28 to 1-12.
It keeps alive hopes of a quarter-final slot for the ‘Well, while Mungret are in danger of a drop from Group One.
In Claughaun, county servants Cian Lynch and Aaron Gillane, along with Patrick Kirby (1-6) were chief scorers for the winners.
Elsewhere, 21-year-old Adam English chipped in with a couple of late points as Doon inflicted upon holders Na Piarsaigh a rare defeat, 1-15 to 0-17.
And, Kilmallock were comfortable 4-17 to 1-18 victors over Ahane.
In Group Two, Ballybrown squeezed past South Liberties (0-25 to 1-20), Monaleen bettered Adare (2-25 to 3-15) and Kildimo/Pallaskenry surprised Dromin/Athlacca, 0-20 to 1-14.
Another round of fixtures are scheduled for next weekend.
