ONE of Castletroy’s newest large scale housing developments has been successfully completed, delivering over 200 new homes.
The Mills in Castletroy was delivered by Meitheal Architects in conjunction with Cairn Homes, and sees 224 new homes added to the quickly growing Limerick suburb.
The development comprises a mix of one-to-three-bedroom apartments, duplexes, and semi-detached homes, which developers said are hoped to cater to a broad spectrum of residents and tenures.
Situated just outside Limerick city centre, it is understood the site will be served by a newly proposed central bus route, with regional access via the M7.
The development is also within walking distance of a range of amenities, including crèches, primary and secondary schools, parks, sports facilities, the University of Limerick, shopping centres, and a cinema.
Patrick O’Toole, managing director of Meitheal Architects, who helped deliver the new housing development in the flourishing suburb, said that the homes at The Mills exemplify the company’s commitment to providing housing in Limerick.
“We are delighted to have partnered with Cairn in the delivery of 224 homes in Castletroy. With many units already occupied and the rest set to be completed by the end of September, this development exemplifies our commitment to innovative design and community-focused urban planning,” Mr O’Toole said.
The Meitheal managing director added that “The Mills is a testament to our dedication to creating sustainable, vibrant communities. This scheme is particularly innovative in terms of its placemaking and we thank our colleagues JFOC Architects in this regard.”
