Bursary auditions for Limerick Choral Union this coming week

Auditions will take place on September 3 in Christchurch Hall on O’Connell Street.

AUDITIONS for Limerick Choral Union (LCU) will take place on Tuesday, 3rd September 2024 from 7:30pm in Christchurch Hall, O’Connell Street, Limerick.  

LCU is proud to introduce the Ted Brooks Bursary, created in memory of one of its most dedicated members. The Bursary is aimed at supporting singers in becoming an active member of LCU, creating wonderful friendships and unforgettable performances and memories.

The bursary is open to all over 18 years of age, and who are deemed successful at auditions. Contact LCU (089) 2267899 for further details and to arrange an audition.

As part of LCU’s ongoing 60th anniversary celebrations, the choir is delighted to announce their performance of Handel’s ‘Messiah’ on Saturday 30th November in University Concert Hall, Limerick.

Under the Baton of Mr. Malcolm Green, and with over 150 singers, LCU will be accompanied by the 30 strong LCU Orchestra with musicians hailing from the 4 provinces of Ireland; and four delightful soloists – Ami Hewitt Soprano, Sarah Luttrell Alto, Sean Tester Tenor and Shokri Francis Raoof Bass.

‘Messiah’ is an awe-inspiring oratorio regularly performed by LCU who propel the work forward with great emotional impact and uplifting messages – a ‘must’ for all to commence the Christmas season! Tickets are €30 and available from UCH box office or on the UCH website.
