LIMERICK’S eco-conscious innovators are being encouraged to apply for Bord na Móna’s Accelerate Green programmes.

The programmes are open to businesses operating in the sustainability sector and are open for applications.

Bord na Móna’s sustainability programmes, the Accelerate Green START Programme for start-ups and Accelerate Green GROW Programme for businesses that wish to scale up, offers applicants networking, mentoring, and business development opportunities through engagement with experienced senior leaders across Bord na Móna’s businesses.

The participants also gain insight into Bord na Móna’s corporate expertise and learnings as a business that has fully transitioned from brown to green – shifting from traditional peat harvesting to climate solutions and renewable energy development.

Since the launch of Bord na Móna’s Green Accelerator programmes, 42 companies have successfully completed the programmes, collectively raising over €10million in venture capital to date.

“Since we first launched Accelerate Green in 2022, we have seen 42 standout green innovators successfully complete these programmes and continue to thrive in the climate solutions space, both in Ireland and further afield,” he explained.

“As a business that has undergone its own significant scaling journey and service evolution, transitioning from traditional peat harvesting to renewable energy and climate solutions, we are committed to sharing the invaluable insights we gained with the next generation of sustainable businesses.”
