GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses after shots were fired from one moving vehicle at another in County Limerick yesterday evening (Wednesday).
A statement from An Garda Síochána this Thursday morning said that Gardaí are investigating “all the circumstances in relation to the discharge of a firearm that occurred in County Limerick on the evening of Wednesday 28th August, 2024”.
The gunfire occurred, Gardaí said, at around 7.20pm on Wednesday evening on the N20 between Charleville, County Cork, and O’Rourke’s Cross in County Limerick.
According to Gardaí, two vehicles were travelling in the direction of O’Rourke’s Cross from Charleville when a gun was fired from one moving vehicle in the direction of the other.
It is understood that nobody was injured in the shooting.
A Garda spokeswoman said that “investigations into all the circumstances of this incident are ongoing at Bruff Garda Station”.
Gardaí have appealed in the wake of the shooting for any witnesses who may be able to help in the investigation to come forward.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling in this area at these times are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí,” an appeal to the public issued on Thursday morning read.
