Man hospitalised after collision near Limerick Clare border

The crash happened yesterday (Monday) at Barry's Cross.

GARDAÍ today (Tuesday) confirmed  they were investigating the circumstances of a two-car collision on Monday evening (August 26) in which a man in his 60s was injured.

Gardaí said that they, along with other emergency services, attended the scene of “a two car road traffic collision” at R463, Ardnacrusha, south east county Clare at approximately 6pm on Monday evening.

“A man (60s) was taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries. The road has been cleared,” a Garda spokesman said

“Investigations are ongoing,” he added.

Gardaí closed off the R463 between Ardnacrusha and Parteen following the collision on approach to a local area known as Barry’s Cross.

Limerick City and County Fire and Rescue Service and HSE paramedics also attended the scene.
