LIMERICK jockeys Wesley Joyce, Moyross, and Gary Noonan, Newcastle West were among the winners at the Killarney Racing Festival.
Joyce gave County Meath-based Mick Mulvany his first winner at the venue when bringing Sunriseontheboyne with a late run to take the eight-furlong nursery handicap.
The 7/1 chance got up in the final strides to win by half a length from Joseph O’Brien’s The Marty Party in the trainer’s own colours.
Noonan and Pat Flynn took the Listed handicap chase over two miles and five furlongs with the seven-year-old Walnut Beach.
The 12/1 chance led after the second-last fence and was always holding the Philip Rothwell-trained El Champo as he scored by a length and a quarter.
As the festival drew to a close, Ballingarry trainer William O’Doherty won the opening division of the two and a half-mile opportunity handicap hurdle with the eight-year-old Swelltime.
Ridden by Carl Millar, the 12/1 chance led at halfway and had plenty in hand as he scored by two and a quarter lengths from the Ken Budds-trained Craic Eile.
