LIMERICK City and County Council has announced the temporary closure of Lower Cecil Street (L-11069) from September 9 to 20.

The two-week closure, with the exception of September 14 and 15, is to facilitate the installation of a crane lift.

Traffic will be diverted via Henry Street, Shannon Street, and Harvey’s Quay/Honan’s Quay.

The local authority has said that large transport vehicles should use Henry Street while smaller vehicles may use Bedford Row if needed.

Diversions will be clearly signposted, the Council said, adding that local access will be granted where possible.
